WhatsApp is testing a new beta update for Android users which would bring Dark Theme and redesigned Dark Splash Screen. The Dark Theme has long been under development, and WhatsApp seems to be continuously working on it to ensure a bug-free experience for end-users. It started working on the feature months back, and yet it has not released the feature for Android users, but now beta-testers can try it out on WhatsApp beta app. Currently, the Dark theme is one of the most demanded feature on WhatsApp.
Since WhatsApp has just rolled out a new update for Android beta and brought an improved Dark Theme, there is a chance for all the Android users to get the mode soon.
In its latest Android 2.19.311 beta update, WhatsApp has reportedly worked on to give a good appearance to the lock icon in the Dark Bubble. According to a report by Wabetainfo, besides Dark Theme, WhatsApp has also introduced redesigned Dark Splash Screen. This feature has also been rolled out for iOS beta users, and now it has received a small improvement in the Android beta app.

The Splash Screen would essentially let users see the WhatsApp logo whenever they open the app. Wabetainfo had previously suggested that there would be a Light Splash Screen and a Dark Splash Screen. When the Dark Theme is released, the Dark Splash Screen will most likely be made available.
The Dark Theme, on the other hand, transforms the background to completely black and text to white. The mode would prevent strain in the eyes of the users and help in saving the battery of the smartphone. Both Dark Theme and Dark Splash Screen shall likely be made available for global users, once WhatsApp completes the beta testing.
